Answer

How much epoxy do I need?

About 4 fl oz of mixed epoxy per square foot for one flood coat (ArtResin), plus 10%: 26.4 fl oz for a 24 × 36 in tabletop. For a mold or river table, multiply length × width × depth in inches and divide by 1.805 for fl oz.

Coat: area × the maker’s coverage (4 fl oz per sq ft for ArtResin). Pour: length × width × depth in cubic inches ÷ 1.805 = fl oz. Then add about 10% and split by the mix ratio.

For molds, dams and river tables

Multiply length × width × depth in inches for cubic inches, then divide by 1.805 (a US gallon is 231 cubic inches and 128 fl oz). A 72 × 12 in river channel, 1½ in deep, is 1,296 cubic inches: about 718.1 fl oz, or 789.9 fl oz with 10% extra. Or fill the mold with water and measure it.
